One of South Africa’s most scenic tourist routes is also the perfect adventure playgroud and home to our national adventure racing team. Spectacular rugged coastlines, beautiful beaches, miles of mountain bike tracks through indigenous forests and luxurious accommodation to relax in at the end of each evening. This unique tour takes you from Plettenberg Bay to George exploring the coastline with a variety of guided adventure activities, it’s the best possible way to explore the Garden Route.

Sample ItineraryDay 1:
Arrive in George where you will be collected from the airport and transfer to Plettenberg Bay. Check into your guesthouse where you will be staying for the next two nights. The afternoon is at leisure.
Day 2:
After an early breakfast transfer to the beachfront and kit up for your kayaking trip. The group will kayak across the bay hopefully spotting dolphin, seals and other marine life along the way. Lunch can be enjoyed on the beachfront and the afternoon is at leisure to relax on the beach. Overnight in Plettenberg Bay.
Day 3:
After breakfast, depart from the guesthouse and transfer to Buffalo Hills located just outside Plettenberg bay. Upon arrival you will set off on a day hike up Elephant gorge, stopping for lunch en route. The hike takes you up to the high camp where you will be staying overnight. Spend the evening relaxing around the campfire listening to the legends of the elusive Knysna forest elephants.
Day 4:
An option of either mountainbiking or horse riding back down to the river camp via an alternate route. Full day of activity includes game viewing en route. Overnight at the river Camp.
Day 5:
Today you depart from Buffalo Hills and transfer to the nearby Harkerville forest for a full day of exhillarating mountain biking through the indigenous forests. The distances covered will depend on the strength of the group. A picnic lunch is included. Afterwards transfer to Knysna where you’ll check into the luxurious Cunninghams Guesthouse on Leisure Isle.
Day 6:
After the strenuous activities of the past few days, you get to relax around the pool or on the nearby beach. Late afternoon transfer to the Knysna waterfront for a sunset sailing cruise on the luxury 50ft yacht – Springtide. The cruise includes a seafood dinner and sparkling wine. Transfer back to Cunningham’s after the cruise.
Day 7:
After breakfast check out of Cunninghams. Your luggage will be transferred to the Elephant Hide Lodge on the other side of town. Today’s activity is a 9km guided walk on the Woodcutters Trail with a picnic lunch at Jubilee Creek. After lunch transfer back to the lodge. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure.
Day 8:
Back on the bikes, today’s activity takes you on mountain bike trails through the Homtini Forest, stopping for lunch at Mother Holly's Mining Museum. Depending on how strong the group is feeling you can continue to bike in the afternoon or return to the lodge to relax for the afternoon.
Day 9:
Transfer from Knysna to the Goukamma reserve. Enjoy a guided walk on a 9km loop starting and finishing at Goukamma Nature Reserve. Picnic lunch thereafter next to the river. It’s an awesome spot, perfect for swimming. After lunch transfer to Lake Pleasant Living – luxury suites near sedgefield. The afternoon is at leisure and you can arrange for spa treatments or relax around the pool. Later in the afternoon transfer to Buffels Bay for a sunset horse ride along the beach. Return to lake pleasant for dinner and overnight.
Day 10:
Morning is at leisure. Around midday check out and transfer to George airport for your flight home. End of itinerary
Accommodation Facilities
Accommodation is in luxury four and five star guesthouses. Buffalo Hills is a game lodge and accommodation is in luxury tented safari camps.
