Description

The Selous Safari Camp, on the banks of Lake Nzerakera has a prime position at the centre of the unique riverine and lake complex. Here there is one of the highest concentrations of African wildlife and birdlife affording excellent game viewing opportunities. The Camp is designed to blend in with the spectacular natural scenery and there are no fences, so animals are able to wander freely through the camp area.

Rooms

There are nine safari tents, each housed on a raised timber platform, affording comfort, security and wonderful views of the African bush. The tents are spacious and are luxuriously furnished, each with private en suite bathrooms and open air hot-water showers.

Facilities

Meals are enjoyed in the communal dining area or under the African skies. The camp chefs are skilled in international cuisine and meals are complemented by a good selection of wines. The camp has a swimming pool, enabling guests to cool off in the heat of the day. Open four-wheeled drive vehicles, specially adapted for close-up game viewing, make for exhilarating early morning and evening forays into the surrounding bush. Expert guides are on hand to identify wildlife and provide explanations. The camp also offers game viewing by boat, an opportunity for guests to see hippo, crocs and birds up close.
