Description

A beautifully restored Herbert baker building, Highlands Country house is an elegant boutique hotel situated in the leafy avenues of upper Kennilworth. Offering the finest in comfort and luxury, the staff are welcoming and attentive, ensuring that you feel right at home. The guesthouse is a short drive from Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens and the Constantia wine route and both seaboards are easily accessible. Elegantly furnished, most rooms have large windows overlooking the terraced Italian gardens and water features with two sparkling pools.

Rooms

There are two loft rooms at Highlands. The en suite bathrooms have a bath & shower together with a vanity unit. The view looks out over the roof tops towards False Bay or the gardens.

Both these rooms are air conditioned and being at the top of the house they are very quiet. In the same category is the pool room which has double doors opening onto one of swimming pools. Fitted with a king size bed, large built in cupboards and a vanity unit, this room is the only room in the house without a full bath, it does however have a large shower and all the other facilities including TV, mini bar, hair dryer.
There are five Executive rooms each furnished in a different style. Three of the rooms have queen size beds, the fourth and fifth can be booked as a twin or with a king size bed. Only one of the rooms does not have a balcony but it is the most spacious of the five.
The rooms are furnished with a desk or writing table, easy chairs and sofas.

All rooms have private bathrooms with full baths and separate walk in showers. Additional facilities include: TV’s, mini bars and hairdryers. A laundry service is available and clothes can usually be returned the same day.

There are four Luxury rooms available in the main house and one in the garden. The Luxury rooms are spacious & beautifully appointed. All have roomy bathrooms, with a separate bath & shower. All of the rooms have a large balcony spacious enough to entertain and enjoy the time relaxing, taking in the panoramic view of mountains or the lush Highlands gardens. The Luxury rooms have large king size beds, which can be converted to twin beds on request. He rooms are equipped with TVs, mini bars and hairdryers as well as writing tables, easy chairs & sofas, chests of drawers and large built in cupboards.
Highlands premier room is the Garden Suite, Located in the manicured gardens it has a private patio. The room has an extra length king size bed, relaxing rocker armchairs and in the sitting room, a TV with A DVD/Video player and satelitechannels, a desk and drinks cabinet. The room has a fully equipped bathroom with a large shower and spa bath.

Facilities

A delicious buffet breakfast is served daily in the dining room and lunches and dinners can be arranged on request. There are several lounges including a covered patio and bar area for relaxing. The guesthouse is centrally located to most of Cape Town’s sights.
